US OPEN 2005, New York City

Sunset near Shea Stadium

I'm actually not a huge tennis fan, although I do watch tennis games and follow tennis players regularly as a sports fan.

September 5, I went to the 2005 US Open. The US Open is in the National Tennis Center at Flushing, Queens, right by the Shea Stadium for New York Mets. Unlike other sports games, for tennis, when you buy tickets in advance, you don't know who's playing whom. But we were pretty lucky, on the day we chose, it's the game between Mary Pierce and Justine Henin-Hardenne. Mary has always been one of my favorite players, and she had an amazing game. Obviously she has a lot of fans in New York too, mainly males.^_^ Throughout the game, you could hear men shouting out "Go Mary!"  Following the Women's Single game was the Men's Single between Richard Gasquet and Robby Ginepri.

The sunset and light was just right when I came out from the subway station, soft and warm. I was lucky to get a few shots that I like.
