Coney Island is a peninsula (and
formerly an island) located in southernmost Brooklyn, New York City.
Traditionally it's a Jewish community. The huge beach, aquarium and
amusement parks had once made it a major attraction to New Yorkers in the
50's and 60's. But now it has lost its resplendence. However, because of
its "historical" significance and flavor, it attracts photographers in New
York and film makers, and it has appeared in many movies that set in New
York. I got there on an early Saturday morning in
June and spent about 2 hours wondering around and shooting pictures. I
almost never get up so early, but the experience was just nice.
